SCRAPED SURFACE HEAT EXCHANGER RECONDITIONING PROCESS
CYLINDERS, BARRELS & TUBES
The first step in our process of reconditioning a Scraped Surface Heat Exchanger freezer cylinder is to strip all existing chrome from the inner liner
(if applicable). Next, a thorough examination is performed, determining the extent of welding, grinding and machining that needs to be performed. Our specialized tooling is designed specifically to weld and repair pits and grooves on longer units. If necessary, outer diameters will be welded, straightened and machined back to factory specification. After all machining is complete, the unit is honed and plated to the proper micro-finish. If applicable, the freezer cylinder will be re-chromed according to ASME standards. Final inspections and certifications are performed on every unit before leaving our facility. In over 45 years of experience, we have very rarely encountered a Scraped Surface Heat Exchanger freezer cylinder that was not repairable. |
